Facel Masks!

One of my besties is facing medical treatments that will necessitate wearing face masks at times. She doesn't want the blah disposable ones, so she asked if I could make her some fun ones. And, of course, I was happy to do so!

The first ones are totally based on the boring disposable surgical ones. In fact, I brought one home to use as a reference. The ties on the white with paw prints mask are WOF and they and the short side binding were cut at 2 inches wide initially. The elastic ties were made with reference to this pattern

These masks were made from another free pattern, using the adult size. I like them better because the pleating on the others was driving me batty, but I'll wait to hear how my friend likes them.

I used the round cord elastic on the taco one as called for, but 1/8 inch regular elastic on the skeleton animals. And I made notes on which ones have which options, so I can make a bunch more when she picks her favorite style.

All of these used fabric leftover from other projects. The shaped masks are lined with solid colored broadcloth. And all were stitched during the Super Bowl, so they were quick projects.
